Project Based on eXchange (PBoX) Children's main objective is to make people; the students, AIESEC Members and the Children itself to understand the children’s rights and how to implement it in their daily life, also to help the children and make their life more colorful. This Pbox will make students understand about the importance of children’s rights, apply it, and respect the children’s rights in their community, in hopes to make a better future for the children. Furthermore, people will realize about what we should do stop child abuse and to help the children to achieve their dreams.

PBoX Children's objective is also to educate people about the danger of child abuse, because these children will be the next generation, therefore we need to act in order to save their future and also our future. Hopefully through this event we can decrease the number of child abuse and to find out the facts about the impact of child abuse and many forms of the abuse itself.

Stop child abuse and do something to get a better future!

Since 1946, officially began in 1948, AIESEC wants to create peace trough entire world. To achieve this goal, AIESEC provide exchange. Since 1954 (the first exchange going abroad), AIESEC always provide exchange as their main program. They called it Internship. It isn’t same with traineeship. Internship is AIESEC’s traineeship, a way to give positive impact to society.

AIESEC believes that by having an international internship, one is DEVELOPED to become GLOBAL LEADER.

As they go back to their own country, they can give contribution to make their country better with the skill and networks that they gained from the internship.

Internship Fair is one of AIESEC event that held to open opportunity for Bandung Students to join EXCHANGE Program. It was held at March 20th 2010 in Gedung Aula Barat ITB.

In this event, we also invited a quite famous speaker Mr. Victor Asih (Motivator, Entrepreneurship, Author of Best Seller book '8 Langkah Menuju ke Langit') to give us motivation why we must do international internship to explore our global competences. Benefits from having AIESEC Internship:

• A positive learning experience

• Practical skills in a foreign environment to complement his/her education

• Interaction with social issues in the host community and country and/ or territory

• Interaction with a new social and cultural environment

PBOX Cultural Education – Cultural Workshop

On Friday, 19th March 2010, PBoX Cultural Education “Love the Culture, Live the Tradition, Bridge the Diversity” held its first learning event, the “CULTURAL WORKSHOP”. This is where we, the Indonesians, preserve our culture by learning the traditional music and dances. Thirty participants came along and had a blast of fun. We also supported by the students learning groups from several universities in Bandung. They are the trainers for the Papua Dance from Parahyangan University, the trainers for the Saman Dance from the Legal Faculty of Padjajaran University, and the trainers for Angklung from the Bandung Institute of Technology. This event started at two o’clock in the afternoon and ended up by eight in the evening at the Parahyangan University.

The event was sectioned into three sessions and the participants were grouped into two. In the first sessions, each group separately learned the Saman and Papua Dance. For the Saman Dance, the participants should sit on the floor, with both legs folded. The participants also had to learn the singings while moving their arms and clapping their hands. It’s a beautiful dancing from the western part of Indonesia, Nangroe Aceh Darussalam. Meanwhile, the Papua Dance was all about the fast-moving feet and jumping energetically. Papua Dance came from the big island with the similar name in the eastern part of Indonesia. All the participants gathered in one group to learn how to play the traditional musical instrument, Angklung, came from West Java. Then, in the last sessions, the participants once again divided into two groups and swap the dancing lessons. When the lessons were finished, all the participants danced the Saman and Papua Dance together beautifully.

By learning, doing, and loving our own culture, we understand about our identity as one country, and from that point we could possibly make an attempt to understand more culture as one’s identity, and bridge the diversity to make peace across nations. It was a very fun, educating, and inspiring workshop!

National Entrepreneurship Forum AIESEC LC Bandung 2010

Last month (March 17th 2010) we had an annual event National Entrepreneurship Forum LC Bandung 2010. This event was hold at Balarea Convention Center BTC Mall floor P1. At 9 AM event was opened by representative of AIESEC Indonesia Mia Dwi Agustina and from AIAO (Indonesia AIESEC Alumni Organization) Ardantya Syahreza. They were talking about NEF Introduction.
The main event begins with Avi Dwipayana (Founder & CEO Trimegah Securities) he was talking about why we should be an entrepreneur the lack of entrepreneurs in Indonesia. "15% concept, 85% is about implementation. A lot of people know, but it could never happen. It has to be a combination of Knowledge and Performance", Mr. Avi said.

Next session was with Erlan Primansyah (CEO of PT. Digits Media, a Strategic Consultant about Innovation) he said He added, an entrepreneur does not always run smoothly they will be faced with many obstacles such as their self, family, enemies, competitors, vendors, financial institutions, the State, employees and others.

Rifky Amir Balfas one of the Sushi Boon owner, came up and explained about how to come upwith business idea,how to create such a unique idea and become a famous sushi brand. Next session with Peter Firmansyah (Owner Peter Says Denim Company) talked about how a young boy who is usually extravagant and always wanted a luxury lifestyle, but he can create the idea to make a business in Clothes Company (especially jeans). As you know Peter expensive than the international brand jeans Levi's.

After the session is completed, participants are given a break for 45 minutes and continued with Galih Sedayu (Director of Air Photography Communications). He said when we love and enjoying doing something from our hobbies it will be easier for you to run your hobby into a business. Next speaker was from the banking practitioners Memet Slamet, he explained about how to obtain loans from banks.

Who does not know about Cipaganti travel? Everybody knows about this travel. But do you know who the man behind this Cipaganti travel? He is Andianto Setiabudi! He explained about the beginning of his company until now.

Mr. Chandra Tambayong (owner of The Majesty Hotel, Solo Grand Mall, BTC Mall, Jatinangor Town Square, Grand Setiabudi, Galeri Ciumbuleuit Hotel, Solo Paragon and Pinewood Apartment) he explained a lot how we can expand our business, our behavior after becoming successful person. He said that network is important to our business. Although you are busy every day never forget to God, family, and healthiness. These 3 points can be a big influence to your live in the future.

After hearing many experiences from successful people, it would be incomplete if we didn't discuss how to make a good business plan. Ardanstya Syahreza (CEO of PT Marketing Communication Indonesia) was discussing how to develop your business plan and make it to your real business.

Break for 40 minutes was really enough to all participants to took dinner, pray n relax. So they could continue the seminar. Next session was with a high school student who became Young social Change makers ASHOKA, she was talking about social entrepreneurship based on environment that she’s doing now with her groups to take care of nature and the world.

The last speaker was Ridwan Kamil he is a young international design entrepreneur of the year 2006 British Council and the owner of PT Urbane Bandung. He explained how to managing creative business and the other side of Bandung art.

The event then closed with giving placate to the speakers, and on 8 pm sharp the event finished. We are waiting for your presence at our next event! Thank you for your participation!

Project Based on Exchange (PBoX), is a project where local and international youth could possibly earn learnings on specific issues and thus give impact to society.

This P-BOX objective is to motivate people to know and love their culture as their nation’s root, expand their knowledge and encourage themselves to develop the unique and beautiful culture of Indonesia. Through this PBox, we also want to share knowledge about variety of world cultures and expand awareness about the beauty of diversity Furthermore, we want to give a new perspective to society that we could build peace and cooperative relation through culture.

This PBoX contains an opening event, 3 learning events, and a closing event. The duration of the total events is approximately 3 months. Those events are :

AIESEC Local Commitee Bandung will run Project Based on Exchange (PBoX) locally named PBoX Environment – “Care, Cure and Conserve The Earth”-. We bring global warming issue globally and rubbish issue locally. Indonesia is a maritime country with the biggest sea continent. Global issue now is how the global warming makes many change in environment’s sustainability. In Indonesia, especially in Bandung, many things are the causes of global warming. One of them is rubbish. As we know, waste especially house rubbish can product many dangerous gas, such as carbon dioxide (CO₂), Methan (CH₄), and dinitroxide (N₂O). Besides, incinerator (rubbish burning) product many gas which can disturb climate sustain in Bandung. And now, by this event we want to tell Bandung’s people about the dangerous and how to maintain the problem by waste management education.

These event will be held in some places in Bandung on 29th November 2009 until 31 January 2010. Duration from opening until closing is 3 month. By these event we want to drive bigger awareness in issue global warming in Bandung, drive awareness about waste in Bandung and its role as the cause of global warming, give information about waste management and how to implement and maintain it in Bandung. Project Based on Exchange (PBoX) Environment LC Bandung consists an opening cenference, three learning events, and a closing conference.

Turkey is amazing, 2 months in there is like a priceless experience that I unexpected. Various culture, Patriotism and nationalism, religious thinking, heritage art and building from the past mixed with modern way of thinking made Turkey is one of country I recommended to come.

During this program, which is Meet My Friend, I lived in city named Kocaeli, located about one and half hour from Istanbul. It’s not a big city and tourist place, but I love it because this city is not so crowded and quite conservative. Then Kocaeli is one of industrial area but in there a lot of students because it has one of big University called Kocaeli University.

The different EP in Kocaeli and other cities is if they live in host family but us lives in Dormitory. We meet each EP’s almost 24 hours a day, eat the same things, have a same internet connection, and have the same problems but the good thing is we can know each other deeper. Then in the end is like we have a new family from different countries.

I experienced how Turkish people live, they taught us Turkish traditional dance, how to play traditional game called Tavla like a chess but just in Turkey, tried delicious Turkish food that very famous one of the best kitchen in the world, tried nargile or in my country called shisa, watched a Turkish movie, tried Turkish beverage such as Turkish kahve(coffee) and cay(tea), and I am living my life as a Turk.

Turkish people are very nice, warm, and friendly better than I thought. I have one experience; I need to go to Istanbul because some reasons, then two friends from University accompany me to go there, find a difficult street in Istanbul that very huge city, even there English is not so good, sometimes we talk with gestures also mixed with Turkeys language is not obstacle for them to help me purely. In other conditions if I go somewhere, they even won’t let me pay for example for food, transportation or anything else. They said I am a guest so I should happy to live in here (Turkey).

But for me, my culture shock in here quite weird, as I know Turkey is one of Islam country in the world, and 99% of them are a Muslim, but it’s rare to find a people pray five times every day, and they are shocked when I can pray five times. Finally I know the answer; Turkey is the second secular country in the world after France. Then the government didn’t give freedom to women who use veil to work or study in school, they should take off their veil first.

I got an opportunity to see many historical and beautiful places and building, first is in Istanbul I saw, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Bosporus bridge, Ortakoy, Topkapi and any others, then in Izmir such as House of Virgin Mary, Ephesus, Zeus Cave, Sirince Village, etc. But it’s just a few, two months is not enough to see all the good things in Turkey. Moreover I can meet a lot of people from other countries, share our minds, thoughts, or perception about some issues that happened in the world especially in Turkey.

This internship gave a lot of experience that I can’t forgot, I can learned a lot from this program, how to adapt in new country with have different season, deal with new people from different country, adapt to the new culture, deal with communication problem, and anything. I thanks to God for every moment that I can go through the program. Last word is I want to say a million thanks to committee of Meet My Friends in Kocaeli, all of you guys doing great, your hard work made a good result. Cok tessekurler. Turkiye cok Guzel

Merhaba Dessy,

Sorry for the lateness to give our news from here. :P .
After waiting day by day, finally I matched with one of LC in Turkey,
which city is Kocaeli, the Project in there Called MMF (Meet My
Friends) 2009. Then I prepared all of the things and documents that
should bring there. Actually my program started in the middle of
February, but I have a flight on 5th February 2009, because I should
attend ATEMCO (opening of MMF Project) in Istanbul at 7th February. I
took 18 hours flight from Jakarta to Istanbul; it's almost a day and
transit in two cities, Singapore and Doha in Qatar. I went there with
two friends, Sofiya and Rabby.

In ATEMCO, there are approximately 65 Exchange Participants from so
many countries in the world and they spread to six cities in Turkey,
there are, Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Kocaeli, Eskişehir and Bursa.
After I spent two days in Istanbul, all the participants go to their
city. Next I have one week before start the project with walk around
Kocaeli to get used and know deeper about that city. In this city
there are 11 Exchange Participants, they are from Japan, Kazakhstan,
China, Taiwan, Indonesia and Russia. Each country send two EP, except
Russia just one.

Kocaeli is kind of manufacture city, and not so big city, with a few
populations, not so crowded, and in a few days, we can explore almost
all of the part of this city. The different between Kocaeli and other
cities in Turkey, we are living in dormitory, precisely is dorm for
local sportsman, and other cities lives with host family, so in here
interns can know each other's.

Then the project comes, in the first week, I start works on Kocaeli
University, exactly in Preparation school. In Turkey, University is 5
years, the first one year is preparation school, and the students
learn English and then 4 years to study their major. Next week after I
go to Atayurt School, one of private school in Kocaeli, this school is
from kindergarten until high school. Third week is in course, Ko-mek
course, this course is held by local government and student can study
with free.

In weekend there are two big tours, first is to Bursa, precisely in
Uludag. In that place EP and OC can enjoy snow, with play ski and
snowboard. The Second tour is to Izmir, the name is BAT or Blue
Aegean Tour, and all the participants can enjoy the beautiful of
Ephesus, Zeus Cave, originality of Sirince Village and so many things
there.
Turkish people are very hospitable, so in here I can have so many
friends, and serve us like we are brothers. Overall i feel satisfied
about this program in Turkey, especially my OC in Kocaeli, but still
they should improve for next year program, and I still have a few
weeks to enjoy this country.

Olla's Internship in The Philippines

Hi my name is Olla. I am a fourth-year student of International Relations in Parahyangan Catholic University, Bandung. Basically, I joined AIESEC for the exchange internship program. I was interested in doing such program because I would challenge myself to do something useful for other people in other country. When I got accepted, I said to myself that I had to leave good impact in the country where I’d be sent to. Then I chose Philippines as my internship destination country because physically, there are actually no big differences between Philippines and Indonesia, but the numbers of poor people in the Philippines is double times by Indonesia’s. I also found out the gap between the poor and the rich people in Philippines are too big. So I decided to go to that unique country to find out more about the poor people life.

I was assigned by AIESEC to the Non Governmental Organization (NGO), named Gawad Kalinga (GK). Gawad Kalinga translated in English means to “to give care”, and it is an alternative solution to the blatant problem of poverty not just in the Philippines but in the world. GK’s vision for the Philippines is a slum-free, squatter-free nation through a simple strategy of providing land for the landless, homes for the homeless, food for the hungry and as a result providing dignity and peace for every Filipino.

My Chinese partner, named Angela (Xin Yi) and I were sent to one of GK Village, named Brookside in the north region of the Philippines. It is located in Brgy. Bagong Silangan, Manila. It was used to be a rural area with undeveloped houses and dirty environment. But now, you would see 300 colorful houses with lovely community and developing environment. There is an alternative school, Stella Maris Alternative School (SMAS), where I used to work as teacher assistant for preparatory class students.

I stayed in GK Brookside for about a month, starting from January 11 until February 14. At the first time, I was really shocked when I met the children there. Their daily life is actually same as in Indonesia, but what makes them different is their economic situation. They are poor but they looked really happy. Then when I visited the school, I was surprised by seeing those clever students, I forced myself not to cry at that time. Day by day, I learnt to live a simple life in Brookside. Well, it’s not easy, because I used to have a lot of things to do back in my country. The Brookside people are very friendly and nice, even though it is hard for them to communicate in English, but they would try their best on it, especially the youth and the mothers. It was my amazing first night living in Brookside when I met the youth and they practiced their English with me, even though they often said “nose bleeding... nose bleeding”. That phrase shows the difficulty in using English.

I joined bible sharing program with the youth 3 times, together with the teachers, who were also my room mates. At last bible sharing I attended, there was a girl sharing about her daily life, how hard its living without parents, and how lucky she is for being adopted. She shared the story in Filipino language actually, but it’s not problem for me. I believe whatever language we used, when we shared something from and with our heart, everyone might not understand it, but they would feel it.

I observed SIBOL and elementary school most of the time there, especially grade 4 and prep-school. I love the children in prep school. They are very nice and open-minded. They might not understand what I was talking about in their class, but I know they love me. When I helped the teachers with feeding program, the kids would not let me go to serve the meals. In prep-school, one of my students, named Joel. His warmth, strength, patience and love made me love him as my youngest brother. Unfortunately, he only lives with his dad, who works as a Pedicab Driver, in the house #56 in front of the court. His mom passed away when she was pregnant, and they were buried together. I could see from Joel’s eyes that he needs care and warmth from a sister or a mother. It showed on his behavior to me. He could be a spoiled boy and would never let me go, hug me, and hold my hand every time. Even he could never say goodbye when I left him.

In short, what I did there besides being immersed were social actions. I created a CYD Presentation and short video to be presented to the partners and the donors of GK, arranged 2 field trips for the students of SMAS to Manila Zoo, Museo Pambata and Luneta Park, and I also transferred to the North Region Office to find out about NGO work. In the last of my project, my partner, Sarah, and I arranged a film showing in the village. The title of the film was Jesus Christ Superstar. From this great experience I found that ironically, those AIESEC people have never been in the site I used to work, they do not even know where it is. The question is why they do not care about their own people, while many foreigners are even staying in the village and fighting for the happiness of them. I do really hope that it won’t happen with AIESEC Indonesia.

Actually, Indonesian and Filipino have very similar values of life. We put respect, love, share, and family on the top of our priority. In Brookside, I learnt it more. I learnt how to save water, how to share happiness with the people there, even thou I don’t know them that well. But I know they know me. I love sharing experience with them, listening to the mothers when they told me about their children, singing with the kids, learning something new with the youth, such as: Filipino language, and others. This experience is priceless and amazing. Someday, I know by having it, I’d be a better person with warm heart and women strength.

Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to have a life-changing experience and also a short journey in GK Brookside.

Since i've arrived in india, there many unanticipated unpredictable and unbelievable things happened..

this country so different..... the culture, people, believe and %&^$%#^$%%...
TOTALLY UNIQUE...
So amazing... The Palaces in Mysore, Gardens, Beaches in GOA, Downtown in Bangalore, the movie theater, the bus stations (oohh so comfort)...
and not only colourfull india... But there Also 8 rommates, friends from other apartements, Parties... So KALERFUL... and then wherever I go in India i met alot young people from europe, US and Asia... most of them are backpackers.. they’re not only travel to india to explore this country for fun, but to also to explore and discover themselves..

Actually i really want to go to north india like kashmir and triangle golden city, unfortunately I dont think I have enough time to travel and to see all india...
for me this country offer manythings to explore, theres many stories about some sacred places that make me curious more and want to explore more...

I admit that sometimes "the unique things" make me mad, angry and I always say : "what wrong with this country, what the F***, WHAT????, Crazy!!!"
and my friends did too....

But those things made us our life change
we think hard for the wayout of problems, we seldom feel comfort when we go out from our apartment, we often meet unpredictable and unanticipated situations...

After more 1&half months, I think unconciuosly we learned how to deal with people, how to make quick decision, how to apreciate people and life..,

for me India is best country for young people to explore... i have alot of fun, a bunch of friends, many troubles, alot things to see at the same time...

PBOX HIV- AIDS

Youth Conference: Don’t be AfrAIDS!

Bandung, 31 January 2009- Bandung is the city with highest number of people suffering from HIV- AIDS in West Java. In the previous 2008, the number increased until 50%.

That’s what has been said by Vice of Chief Komisi Penanggulangan AIDS (KPA), dr. Rita Ferita during AIESEC Youth Seminar: Don’t be AfrAIDS! In 31^st January 2009 at Audio Visual Room, University of Padjadjaran.

The aim of this conference is to build youth awareness of HIV- AIDS and reduce the prejudice of people who are living with HIV- AIDS. Speakers of this conference are dr. Bagus Rahmat Prabowo, PMTCT Consultant from UNICEF, dr. Rita Ferita Vice of Chief Komisi Penanggulangan AIDS (KPA), and activists from HIV- AIDS NGOs in Bandung. This conference also attended by Chief of Harian KPA, Drs. H. Soekarno MM., Board of Advisor AIESEC LC Bandung, Mr. Deddy Hilman and Mr. Ramdhan Panigoro, participants from China, Taiwan, Uganda and Korea, and around 100 students from various universities in Bandung.

This is a letter sent by our Exchange Participant Andika (Environment 05 ITB), who went for Development Internship in Bangalore, India, January 2009. We received this letter in 21 January 2009 by our VP OGX, Dessy, and we're so proud to be the part of Andhika's life changing experience...

This is his experience, only the first day, there will be a lot more, and we'll make sure you're updated... yes, this is his experience... how about you?

Dessssssiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii.... I don’t know what to say, there so many story to share... it was so fantastic...... my flight, my journey, my arrival and my day here.

Anyway i’m trying to start from my flight...

I took lion air from jkt and arrive in changi at 1 pm... and i took 8 hours there for transit. i was very excited there, i walked around the airport, i bought Latte and muffin at starbux, 3 cheese burger at Mcd (take away, just incase i’m hungry on plane hehehe).... and then.... wow there many things to see...

At 9.15 PM and i took plane to go to BANGALORE... i’m met some indian and i try to let them know that i’m going to bangalore and they were nice... we talk about ourselves, and of course about india, bangalore and they give me some tips in bangalore. At 11.20, i arrived in bangalore. The airport is new built, it’s so modern, futuristic design, great facility like just in singapore airport but much smaller.

And you know what i met once again, an indian girl who I met in changi. And she guide me since the plane landed till I got into the bus. The immigration check was so easy, i just passed it easily, i didn’t take much time there. And just for your info,the bus is smell unique... hehe smell indian hahahahahaha... and the bus sometimes turn off the AC (maybe to safe fuel), and i took 1 hour in that bus. And i felt sick in that bus, very sick, after long flight. However, i’m very excited... so different here, the houses, people, athmosphere.... funtastic

And the bus dropped to somewhere call HOL or HCL, thea after ten minutes prateek and daven picked me up to springfield apartemen... I arrived at 12.30, there were Tiffany (chan yap chen) and Hazel (Ling Hui Jung) from taiwan opened ther door for me. They are very nice. We talked until 5 a.m

In the morning at 9a.m there milind and shvarman took us 5 (me, stephani, tiffany, hazel and wendy) for break fast amd after that we went to mall.... and you know what, we watch indian cinema in Indian theater ( like blitz or bioskop 21).... the screen is much bigger the sound system were crazy it’s so loud... it took 4 hours, so many dancing, singing, and unbelievable action(jump from high place or something) with no subtitle. And the unique thing is there a break during movie... its so funny

In the apartemen, the facility is so complete... there is a swimming pool, gym, tennis court, badminton, snooker... food are cheap ( maybe same like in indonesia)
Anyway.... we have so much fun here... my rommates are nice, fun to hang out with them.. although there are some things that i don’t get or they not provide what they wrote in TN details.

One of the annual conference is Asia Pacific Exchange Summit (APXS). This conference is focus on creating strategy to increase Exchange quality. Means... this is part of our commitment to give you high quality of Exchange. One of our member, Mio, went there. And this is his story...

I got many things during the conference, since that my first AIESEC International Conference and also my first time going abroad too, so, I was really excited since first time I arrived In KL Sentral, the meeting point for all the delegates before we went to the venue.

The first thing that I got during the conference was LCP tracking, I got a lot of information about how the LCP should do to help big growth in exchange number in the LC. That was really meeting my expectation because before I joined the conference I expected to get many things to help me apply as the next LCP of AIESEC Bandung.

The second was, I got a lot of information about the whole AIESEC in Asia Pacific in terms of exchange condition, how they grow their exchange number, how they came up with idea to solve the problem to boost their exchange number, learned from the best LC, shared many things about good case practice from LCs. And our LC selected as one LC who did the sharing in the discussion panel. And I was the representative of my LC, so that time I should share things about, “how to capitalizing external resources to help exchange growth”. Because I am still manager and not really know many things about the LC doing because the updates of every functional are done frequently. So, I was trying to do that with all my best and little help from the MCVP X Indonesia. And in the end I could present good and useful information for other delegates. And that was great experience I have ever had.

The third one, we were learning how to do LC-LC or Country-Country partnership. We learned how to build partnership with other LC or other country to help boost the exchange number easily. After that we learned how to do pocket recruitment to follow up those partnerships. We also have done simulation about those things. The good things are now we have 3 partnerships and signed already. We got partnerships with China, Taiwan, and UK. Yeah!!

The last things, at the of the conference we trying to make plan how we implement and follow up the partnership, so, all the Indonesian delegates made the timeline to achieve those target of exchange number, to realize our partnerships with other country.

Benefits for my self:

I got so much benefit by joining this conference, networking as I expected before, got network from 12 countries. Many new strategies to accomplish my job during this term, more represented my country as well. Told many things about my country, the culture, many great places in my country. Getting to know other country as well, and also wondering to visit one of Asia Pacific country, such as China or maybe Pakistan. And the most important thing is I got many idea to improve my country, I can do it AIESEC or by being good citizen. I really want to promote my country to other country start from Asia Pacific, after that promote globally.

My opinion:

By going abroad I can see many differences, culture things, how other country doing something, their policy, how they manage their transportation, how they manager their city, etc. So, after I traveled to Malaysia I can say that really good to have this kind of experience, see the other world of your life. Experience different things in your daily life, explore many things that you haven’t taste it yet and make it as experience that can change your way of thinking, your way of acting on some kind of things in your country, make your life more value able to live and the most important thing is more love your country and how to make your country better that the others or at least make it better than others in your perspectives. And this experience make me things to do more traveling and make me to have more spirit to explore this world, and after that bring all back those kind of experience to improve my country than ever. Maybe by being the president someday, why not?!

First-Three Universities- Recruitment

For the first time in AIESEC LC Bandung history, we're just held member recruitment in three big universities which are: UNPAD, ITB and UNPAR.
The first recruitment held in ITB during Open House Unit event, 17 August 2008. Second recruitment held in UNPAD during Student Day event in Jatinangor, 23 August 2008. Third recruitment held in UNPAR, 26-27 August 2008.
Around 500 forms are brought, and more than 100 people passed the form selection to go to the second selection, Focus Group Discusssion. Only 80 people accepted for interview, and there will be only 54 people to be the newbies of AIESEC LC Bandung.
Focus Group Discussion held in 13 and 14 September. It's a wonderful experience having students from three dufferent universities gathered to discuss some cases together and strived to be AIESEC member :)
Now, we're still working on interview. Spirit guys...! who's gonna be our new members...??

Opening PBOX HIV AIDS

Bandung, 26 July 2008- Opening PBOX HIV AIDS was a fabulous breakthrough for AIESEC LC Bandung PBOX Event in 08/09 term. Held in D3 Fisip Bukit Dago Utara, Opening PBOX HIV AIDS offered extra complete information about HIV AIDS through talkshow, “Stand Up for Challenge”.

The speakers are dr. Ronald Jonathan Msc, Mas Irwan from Rumah Cemara, Mas Ricky from PKBI and AIESEC LC Bandung exchange participants, Claudia from Canada, Isabelle from Switzerland and Sunny from China . There’s also special guest, Mas Resa, an ODHA who bravely share his experience with AIESEC members.

PBOX HIV AIDS is the first PBOX held in 08/09 term. The objective is to bring up the issue of HIV AIDS in Indonesia, especially Bandung city. It’s an important issue; because, like dr. Ronald Jonathan said, until now HIV AIDS still a complicated social issue in Indonesia. There’s still a lot of Indonesian people misinterpret HIV phenomenon it self. According to PKBI and Rumah Cemara experience; people tend to see HIV AIDS as sinful and really easy spread disease, and they see ODHA as dangerous people. Alienation is not something new for them.

The key message of this seminar is that people with HIV AIDS are just ordinary human being; they still able to live normal life, and they should not be avoided. The session also emphasized the relation between drugs usage and HIV AIDS, whereas the first thing often leads to the second.
